About the series
Culdcept is a turn-based strategy game where players become Cepters, using cards in battles that combine luck and tactics. The original debuted on the Sega Saturn in 1997 and had versions for PlayStation, Nintendo DS and 3DS. Culdcept Revolt arrived on 3DS in the West in 2017.
Recently, City Connection released Culdcept the First on July 30 for Switch, PS5, Xbox Series and PC. Culdcept Begins marks the series’ return with a new story after about a decade.
The announcement strengthens the presence of niche Japanese titles on Steam during Steam Next Fest 2026, which already surpassed 8,000 demos.
