Cloudflare launched on November 4, 2026 new analytics and access policies for personal AI agents — assistants that act on a person's behalf on websites, to compare products, find support articles or complete a purchase. For a site owner, those interactions arrive as automated traffic; the new feature is seeing which agent is visiting and deciding, agent by agent, what to allow.
In practice, the bot analysis chart in Security Analytics gains a Personal Assistants category, alongside Verified Bot, Likely Human, Likely Automated and Automated. A new widget in Top statistics lists which agents visit the site and how many requests each one sends, and filtering by one agent updates the other widgets with the paths requested, the response codes and the networks of origin.
For access control, the existing Agents policy is expanded and renamed AI Crawler and Agent access policies. In Security Settings, a site sets an overall Agents policy and then an exception per supported agent: Allow (do not block), Block on pages with ads or Block. The Search and Training policies do not change with this launch.
For sites using Account Abuse Protection, still in early access, it also becomes possible to see which user each agent represents: the overview shows which personal agents are active across users and how many accounts use them, and every login and sign-up event now indicates whether it was made by a personal agent and which one.
Cloudflare's message is direct: blocking every agent may look like the safest path, but it can mean losing customers who arrive through them. With per-agent visibility and control, each site can welcome agents on its own terms — including allowing one agent across the whole site and blocking it only on pages with ads.
