Bloomwalker Joins Ni no Kuni Universe and Confirms PS5 & Switch 2

Netmarble confirmed this Thursday (17), during the Xbox broadcast at Tokyo Game Show 2026, that Bloomwalker is officially part of LEVEL-5's Ni no Kuni universe. Previously introduced as Project Bloomwalker, the game is no longer an Xbox exclusive: in addition to Xbox Series and PC, it is coming to PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch. A release date has not yet been announced.

The news was highlighted by Xbox Wire and outlets like Gematsu and AUTOMATON. The new trailer features higgledies—the iconic nature spirits from the Ni no Kuni series—alongside official LEVEL-5 credits.

What is Bloomwalker?

It's a cozy exploration and crafting adventure. Players travel aboard a walking house, cleansing pollution across the world of Luminoa, restoring shrines, and freeing corrupted guardians. Instead of conquering the map, the core focus is returning color and life to the environment.

The front door of the house opens into a Pocket Dimension: a customizable space for building, decorating, and setting up workshops. Crafting familiars and higgledies live here. Building friendships unlocks new recipes, facilities, and crafting paths. Gathered materials are turned into tools to rebuild villages or used as gifts for companions.

What does this mean?

Ni no Kuni has spent years without a major open-world release in the West. While Bloomwalker is not a classic JRPG in the style of LEVEL-5's main entries, it inherits the franchise's beloved creatures, aesthetic, and official seal. For Netmarble Neo—the Korean studio behind titles like Solo Leveling: ARISE—the partnership expands the project's reach beyond Xbox, where it was originally unveiled at gamescom 2025.

What it doesn't mean yet

There is still no release date. It is also unclear how deeply LEVEL-5 is involved in day-to-day development. What is confirmed is its place in the franchise universe and the expanded platform lineup: PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, Switch, and PC (Steam and Microsoft Store). Reports indicate the game's store page is already live for wishlisting on select platforms.
