Battlefield 6 Season 5 takes the fight to Las Vegas and Area 51, with a limited mode inspired by Dead Space on the Halloween calendar. Inven Global's October 9, 2026 report, based on Inven's coverage in South Korea, details the update plan and credits EA and Battlefield Studios material. Season 5 follows the Top Gun crossover from the previous season.
What Phase 1 brings
The first phase, Siege of Las Vegas, starts on October 14 (Korea time). The opening maps are Vegas Strip, in the heart of the casino boulevard, and Area 51, a desert military site with open sightlines and underground areas. On the Strip, fights run through restaurants, tunnels and multi-story casinos. At Area 51, the challenge is reading open sightlines and breaching the underground.
Four weapons debut with the season: the MK24 rifle, the RSPR submachine gun, the Z84M machine gun — a return from earlier games in the series — and the ELR-40 bolt-action sniper. Free-to-play battle royale REDSEC adds Rapid Royale, with a tighter zone, a faster pace and redeploy tokens per kill.
The Dead Space crossover
From October 21 to November 8, Phase 1 includes a limited-time scenario in which players meet the Marker, the sci-fi horror franchise's artifact, and hold off swarms of Necromorphs. Inven describes mechanics inspired by Dead Space plus themed items and weapons. IGN had already noted the Marker in the season trailer on October 6; the Korean report treats the mode as a confirmed part of Phase 1. Inven does not list cosmetic prices or confirm a new Dead Space game.
Later phases and quality of life
On November 11 the European Casino map arrives, along with the Casino Heist event, the NSW4 rifle, a signal jammer and the M142 HIMARS artillery vehicle. On December 9, Phase 3 Frozen Aces adds Operation High Roller, the MK1 MOD 0 DMR, the Karambit knife, the B-81 Cavalry bomber and Freezeout, a winter version of Vegas Strip.
The season also reworks New Sobek City and Blackwell Fields, adds the Platoons social feature for groups of up to 100 players and brings back the Server Browser for finding matches and setting map rotation.
