Indefinite delay for Sony PlayStation Pulse Elevate speakers

The indefinite delay of the Pulse Elevate speakers from Sony was announced after the company identified a production issue during quality testing. The product was scheduled to arrive in stores on November 12, 2026.

What happened?

In an update posted on the PlayStation Blog on November 6, Sony Interactive Entertainment stated that it identified a production issue during ongoing quality testing. The official statement reads: "As part of our ongoing quality testing of Pulse Elevate speakers, we have identified a production issue with the product and have made the decision to delay the launch. The additional time will allow us to ensure the product will deliver the experience we intended for our players."

Sony apologized for the delay and said it looks forward to bringing Pulse Elevate to players soon, but provided no new release date.

Product details

The Pulse Elevate are the first wireless speakers from Sony Interactive Entertainment aimed at desktop gaming. They were announced in September 2025 and join the Pulse lineup alongside the Pulse Elite headset and Pulse Explore earbuds. The planned price was $219.99 (around £199.99 in the UK).

The speakers use planar magnetic drivers for lifelike audio, offer ultra-low latency via PlayStation Link, feature a built-in microphone with AI-enhanced noise rejection, and are portable with a rechargeable battery. They work with PS5, PC, Mac, and PlayStation Portal, plus simultaneous Bluetooth connection.

Planned colors were Midnight Black (global availability) and White (select markets).

Why it matters

The delay comes just days before the scheduled launch, which may affect pre-orders placed since September. It remains unclear what will happen to existing orders. Sony has faced similar delays with other accessories, such as the FlexStrike.
