Atelico AI Engine enters Early Access with on-device AI for Unity, Unreal and Godot

Studio Atelico has opened Early Access for the Atelico AI Engine, a tool designed to run generative artificial intelligence directly on the player's device without relying on cloud servers or per-token costs.

The engine offers native integration with Unity, Unreal Engine and Godot, and supports Windows, macOS, iOS and Linux, on GPU or CPU. Capabilities include language models for dialogue and narrative, image generation, text-to-speech, speech-to-text, lip-sync and an NPC behavior system with memories, emotions and relationships.

According to the studio, the technology is already used in the game Bobium Brawlers, where the player describes a creature in text and receives a locally generated portrait and playable deck. The goal is to enable gameplay experiences previously limited by cloud costs and latency.

Access is limited and can be requested on the official site. The team, formed by veterans from companies such as Uber, Meta, SEGA and Creative Assembly, emphasizes that AI should serve the player experience, not the other way around.
