ANBERNIC showed a preview of the RG DDS on Friday, October 9, 2026, a dual-screen clamshell handheld aimed at people who like the DS-style form factor. The reveal was reported by IT Home and appears in a video on the brand's official channel.
What was shown
The RG DDS uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 mobile platform and two IPS LCD panels. The top screen is 4.7 inches, 1200 by 720, and up to 500 nits. The bottom screen is 4 inches, 960 by 720, with the same 500-nit ceiling. Both sit at about 300 pixels per inch.
Inside, ANBERNIC lists active cooling, a Z-axis linear motor and a 6000 mAh battery. Outside, the metal hinge has a UV coating. A retractable stylus sits on the lower left; a physical AI button is on the right. A pair of speakers is built into the top half. The company has not said what that AI button actually runs.
What is not confirmed
Price, release date, RAM and storage are not in the IT Home report. A write-up on ixbt.games, citing the official video, mentions classic buttons, two sticks, a D-pad, a microphone and three colors: white, black and blue. Those extra details still come from promotional material and were not listed as a closed spec sheet by the Chinese report.
Why it matters
Dual-screen Android handhelds have been circulating again after renewed interest in DS-style machines. The RG DDS joins that line with a Qualcomm gaming chip, a built-in stylus and a large battery, but it is still a preview: without a price or a date, it cannot be fairly compared with Switch 2 or rivals such as Ayaneo.
