Amazon celebrated on Thursday, October 23, 2026, the first anniversary of the relaunch of Amazon Luna. In an official post, the company revealed that the cloud gaming service’s user base has grown fivefold since relaunch, while the library surpassed 80 titles.
What changed in the first year
Jeff Gattis, GM of Gaming at Amazon, highlighted that the goal was to make games accessible without a console and at no extra cost for Prime members. The service now includes major AAA titles such as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Star Wars Outlaws, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and the BAFTA-winning Dispatch.
A recent milestone was the day-and-date launch of Star Wars: Galactic Racer, available on Luna the same day as other platforms, at no additional cost to Prime subscribers.
Prime Video integration and expansion
Luna was also integrated into the Prime Video app on Fire TVs, starting in the US and UK in July. Expansion recently reached Canada, France, Italy, and Spain, with eight more European countries planned for November.
The GameNight category, focused on social and casual games (controlled via phone), has grown and now includes original titles and Remote Play for online multiplayer. Amazon also experimented with AI in experiences like Courtroom Chaos.
What’s next
According to the announcement, Amazon plans to bring more major games via day-and-date releases for Prime members. The service remains included in the Prime subscription, with no need for a console or gaming PC.
In a time of increasingly expensive hardware, Luna positions itself as an alternative for immediate access to big games.
