Acer Predator Atlas 8 arrives in the US for $1,300 at Best Buy

What happened?

Acer confirmed the launch of the Predator Atlas 8 gaming handheld in the United States. The Intel Arc G3 Extreme model arrives on November 1, 2026, exclusively at Best Buy for $1,299.99.

The device features an 8-inch 1920x1200 120 Hz VRR screen, up to 24 GB LPDDR5x RAM, 512 GB storage, TMR joysticks and Hall-effect triggers, and runs Windows 11 with Xbox Game Pass support. It is the first official Predator series handheld to reach the American market.

Why is this important?

The Windows PC handheld market is growing fast, with competitors like Steam Deck, ASUS ROG Ally and MSI Claw. The Atlas 8 enters with a competitive price (about $500 cheaper than the MSI Claw with a similar chip) and pre-orders that already sold out, indicating strong demand.

Acer leverages the Intel Arc G3 Extreme chip with 12 Xe3 cores for solid graphical performance in a portable form factor.

What changes in practice?

US gamers gain another Windows handheld option, making it easier to access Steam libraries and Game Pass without relying on emulators. The design with RGB lighting and optional docking expands use beyond pure portability. Online orders reopen on launch day.
